What stays in your browser
Understand the difference between a cookie, temporary page state, a copied brief and a downloaded file.
Cookies and similar technologies
A cookie is a small value stored by a browser and associated with a website. LocalStorage is another browser mechanism that can retain values across visits. These technologies can support preferences, security or tracking, depending on how they are used.
The supplied content pages and script do not set cookies, use localStorage or sessionStorage, load analytics, or include advertising trackers. The mobile menu, reading animations and progress line use temporary page state only. This notice describes that code; hosting or separately managed site-wide services may have their own essential delivery or preference mechanisms.
If a separate preference control is displayed by the website’s delivery system, use it to manage any optional technologies it describes. Non-essential technologies should not be activated without the consent required by applicable law. Rejecting optional technologies should not prevent access to the engineering articles.
The enquiry tool is local
- Form entries
- Your entries are held in the current page while the brief is generated. The supplied tool does not transmit or persist them. Your browser may separately restore form state when navigating.
- Clipboard
- Selecting Copy brief asks your browser to write the preview to your device clipboard. Clipboard contents may remain available to your device and other applications until replaced or cleared.
- Downloaded file
- Selecting Download .txt creates a text file from the preview in your browser. The file remains wherever your device saves it until you move or delete it.
None of these actions sends the brief to Pavilionvaultbambo. If you later paste it into an email or upload it elsewhere, that separate action is governed by the services you use.
Manage your device choices
Browser settings usually let you inspect and clear site cookies and storage. Clearing data can remove preferences managed by other site-wide services. Private browsing does not necessarily erase downloaded files or clipboard contents, so review those separately on shared devices.
External reference links open third-party websites when selected. Those websites may use their own cookies and storage under their own notices; they are not loaded into these pages as embedded tracking content.
